What's beyond high-fidelity?

Just wondered today talking to a friend about 5 1/4 old-fashioned removable media disks, that we might be going somewhere with the thirst for more space, bandwidth and portability. We are desperate to make everything perdurable, reliable, customizable but share-able, fast enough to deal with our hectic lives, and over all that, as realistic as reviving the moment.

Computer science and engineering decided to take different approaches so that they can be more agile ir developing algorithms and coding that can be used with purpose, so I wonder: beyond the full HD compliant devices that we all now want to have and faster communication channels to tailor their visualized contents to our desires or to share bigger pictures with friends, where are we heading the society with the rush for more advanced technologies? What is our next challenge to please masses with next generation devices? Steve Jobs figured out that we need to create and explain so that others fall in love with the creation. Times to deliver on unattended niches will apparently just deliver marginal gains, but will not change the way the world lives, as PC, cell phones, iPods and Facebook/Myspace have done.

And among all these questions, what should be my role in all this creational chaos...?
