Cost of living in Venezuela

I am gonna make this entry in english, and maybe many more, as I embrace the importance of the "universal" language :)

Today, I wanted to give you some perspectives on how much does it cost to live in Venezuela. The fact is that I will not use USD$ or any other currency to bring you this reality. Instead, I am going to give you the perspectives measured against the cost of filling my SUV with gas. This is, indeed, a critic to the consequences for the human race, for the environment, for the budget planning and for the healthy grow of a poor economy, of RIDICULOUSLY low gas costs.

My car is filled with 6 Bs. F. At 2.15 Bs.F/USD$... that's below 2.7$ per TANK! This is 2.7$ per 60 liters (around 22 gals!)

Now, this is the cost of living in Venezuela, in tanks of Jeep's gas :)

Mineral Water (500 ml) - 0.5 tanks (not liters of gas... )
Soda (333 ml) - 0.5 tanks
Fruits Pressés / Natural Juice - from 0.8 to 2.5 tanks, depending on the fruit
Household energy - 30 tanks
Highway tolls (only if heading to the provinces outside the city) - 0.05 tanks
One tire for my car - 50 tanks
Nice hotel near the beach - 30 tanks
MILK!!!! (unofficial price) - 2 tanks per liter! (yes... 60 liters of gasoline or 1 liter of Milk... in the end, who needs to get fed for living? Daaah!)
EGGS (per dozen) - FOUR tanks
Apartment rental (monthly) - from 500 to 1500 tanks.
Water service (at home) - 1.5 tanks per month.

The solely intention of this briefing is to let you see that if you do the same calculation back home in your countries, ratios will be COMPLETELY different. Economists insist that releasing the gas prices will continue impoverishing our economy. However, they agree on the fact that the current effect created by the world-lowest gas prices is just removing the brakes from the economy's vehicles in Venezuela.
